This semester in my photography class, we spent some time learning a bit about bookmaking. this meant compiling and curating my own newly shot images, printing them, assembling pages together and then sewing them by hand, and lastly, building a handmade cover.
I made a total of three finished handmade books, but the photographs above are an excerpt from the one I am most happy with, a collection of abstracted light and patterns.
In other news, i’ve started a visual journal, which you can find by clicking on the link in the upper right hand corner. I’m hoping it will keep this blog clutter-free and more personal, as well as give me a space to fill with all the other visual inspiration I find on a daily basis.
I’ve already started adding to it, and I can tell it’s going to be easily addicting.

I was lucky enough to receive a polaroid sx70 camera for christmas from John this year. The unlucky part is that it isn’t working properly. This means we’ll have to send it back and look for another one, which is a bummer, but in the meantime i have a few “mistakes” that came out pretty cool (see above).
